2026 International Open Call for Exhibition Proposals, Alternative Space Loop

Alternative Space Loop is pleased to announce our 2026 International Open Call for Exhibition Proposals, inviting artists, curators, and collectives to propose experimental approaches to contemporary artistic practice and exhibition-making. Proposals may take the form of solo exhibitions, independent curatorial projects, or group exhibitions across all genres in contemporary art.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to present their proposals at LOOP Crit, a public critique program. This will offer an opportunity to share their artistic vision, engaging in open dialogue and critical discussion with peers and audiences. We value open communication and solidarity within the art community.

Selected project(s) will be presented in LOOP’s official 2026 programme, and all participants will also be encouraged to explore future collaborations with the LOOP community in various formats. We look forward to your interest and participation.

Application & Program Timeline

• Proposal Submission Period: September 25 (Thu) – October 12 (Sun), 2025
• Announcement of Preliminary Review Results: 5th week of October 2025 (TBC)
  Up to 10 proposals may be shortlisted for LOOP Crit
• LOOP Crit: 2nd–3rd week of November 2025 (TBC)
• Announcement of Final Selections: December 2025 (TBC)
  via individual contact and announcements on LOOP’s website & social media
• Exhibition (1–2 selected projects): Second half of 2026 (TBC)

Support for selected applicants

• Use of LOOP’s exhibition space & operational support
• Collaboration opportunities with LOOP projects
• Design and production of promotional materials (poster, leaflet, etc.)
• Promotion through LOOP’s official social media channels
• Modest financial support

Eligibility

• No restrictions on age, education, nationality, or gender
• Open to individual artists, curators, and collectives

Eligible Exhibition Formats

• No genre restrictions
• Open to solo exhibitions, group shows, curated projects, etc.

Selection Process

• 1st Round: Internal Review
  By local and international jury
• 2nd Round: Evaluation through LOOP Crit, public presentations and critique sessions
• Final selection: 1-2 proposals will be selected to be included in LOOP’s exhibition programme.

Notice

• This Open Call for Exhibition Proposals is the new, unified version of LOOP’s former open calls for artists and independent curators.
• Shortlisted applicants for LOOP Crit are required to participate in a 1-hour presentation and critique session. In-person participation is preferred; an online presentation may be arranged for applicants residing abroad.
• Applicants are required to use the official application form. All accompanying documents must be submitted in PDF format.
• Only complete applications presenting original work will be considered for review.
• Submitted documents will not be returned.
• LOOP will subsequently announce a call for participation in LOOP Crit, inviting both professionals and audience members.

2026년도 대안공간 루프 전시 공모

2026년 대안공간 루프는 현대 예술 전시 기획과 예술 실천에 대한 새로운 실험적 접근을 제안하는 전시를 공모합니다. 현대 예술 내 모든 장르를 대상으로 하며, 예술가의 개인전, 큐레이터의 기획전, 콜렉티브의 그룹전 등 다양한 형식의 예술 프로젝트를 환영합니다.

1차 선정된 지원자(팀)는 루프의 크리틱 행사에서 자신의 제안서를 발표하게 됩니다. 이 자리를 통해 지원자(팀)는 자신의 예술적 세계와 비전을 공유하며, 자유로운 대화와 피드백, 상호 비평 등을 통해 담론의 지형을 함께 확장해 나갈 것입니다. 루프는 열린 소통과 연대를 지향합니다.

최종 선정된 제안은 2026년 대안공간 루프에서 전시됩니다. 또한 앞으로 루프 커뮤니티와 함께 다양한 형태의 협업을 이어가게 됩니다. 많은 관심과 참여 부탁드립니다.

주의 사항

• 기존의 대안공간 루프 작가 공모, 기획자 공모를 통합한 새로운 형태의 전시 공모입니다.
• 1차 선정자는 1시간 내외의 공개 발표, 크리틱 행사에 필수로 참여하게 됩니다.
  오프라인 참여를 기본으로 진행하되, 해외 체류자는 온라인으로 참여하게 됩니다.
• 제출 서류는 반드시 지정된 양식을 사용해야 합니다. (PDF 형식 준수)
• 표절 및 기타 결격 사유가 확인될 경우 선정이 취소될 수 있습니다.
• 접수된 서류는 반환하지 않습니다.
